Bowling Party

Kyler turned 8 this year and had a fun bowling party. This was the first time my kids have gone bowling so I was pretty excited. Unfortunately, Matthew was having one of his cranky days and although I managed to capture some smiling moments on camera, he spent most of the time in tears.

Emma had a pretty fun time and since the party was at US Play we even got to play some video games after the pizza and cake were served. I hope to take them again soon when Ben can go and Matthew is in better spirits.

Christmas Concert

Emma's Pre-school set up a special Christmas concert for family and friends in the theatre of the local High School. Emma had been practicing her songs all month - at school AND at home. She was extremely excited for the performance. We went out for a special dinner before hand at our favorite Mexican restaurant and then headed to the school. The younger classes went on first and it was fun to see them trying to follow along to the Christmas carols they were supposed to be singing.

Then it was Emma's turn with her class. They actually had all three of the Pre-K classes go on at the same time so there was a large group of children. At first they had Emma standing on the second row all the way on the end. It was perfect because we could see her really well! I grabbed Matthew's attention to try and show him where his sister was when I lost view of her. Then I noticed they put my teeny little girl way in the back row next to a boy who was twice her size! "Oh No!" I thought "Now she is going to be hidden and I won't be able to see her." I really should have known better! There was my darling little princess way in the back but with her exaggerated hand motions and strong singing voice, there is no way in the world she could be missed. She was made to stand out and make an impression and she always does. She did a fantastic job singing "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" and "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" with the rest of her class. For the big finale they had the entire school sing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". Once again, I was so proud of my daughter.
